Shrove Monday in the Village / Clean Monday in Arcadia Village

This year, several villagers us with their guests celebrated here the "Lent" (so called the output of Clean Monday). It was a good trip and fun opportunity to Arcadian Village. The weather was beautiful, blue sky and gentle breeze allowed all ages to experience the art of flying kites in, which is the main tradition of the day.

At around noon, began to distract us from the smells of roasting various seafood on the grill. In a very short time, the square was emptied and the fun continued at home, where tables had been paved with similar dishes of the day. Octopus, squid, fish roe salad, garlic sauce, pickles and lagana among others, were honorary.

Of course, it was missing and necessary complement. . . Ouzo and wine.

On Shrove Monday of Lent begins, while states and the end of Halloween. The word Net, church means the start of dialysis Christians, beginning with fasting that keeps 40 days (Lent - Lent). The Clean Monday is celebrated 48 days before Easter Sunday.
